What I’ve Learned Since Opening Our Showroom

When we first opened the Pete Bird Kitchens & Bathrooms showroom, I had no idea what to expect. But fast forward a few weeks and the response has been incredible. I wanted to share a bit about what the experience has been like, what surprises we’ve faced, and why the showroom has turned out to be such an important part of what we do.

When we were planning the Pete Bird Kitchens & Bathrooms showroom, I’ll be honest and say I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. We’d put in all the graft, we’d spent months making it just right, and then the day came to open the doors.

I wasn’t nervous on the morning of the launch. We had worked so hard and we’d taken our time to ensure that we were making it the best quality we could. I knew I’d made myself proud, no matter what happened on that day.

But the day only made me prouder. We had so many people there, from past customers through to completely new faces, and I didn’t have time to stop and think. It couldn’t have been a better day, and the excitement hasn’t stopped since.

A Welcome Surprise

The sheer number of people walking through the door has blown us away, and the extra enquiries landing in our inbox every week have been a very welcome surprise.

The showroom has given people confidence in a way that even I didn’t anticipate. They can see the craftsmanship up close, talk to us face to face, and start to picture what’s possible in their own homes. That personal connection has made a huge difference.

The response has been nothing short of amazing. To keep up with the demand, we’ve already had to take on three more members of staff (and we’re still rushed off our feet!). That in itself is a real testament to all the hard work that’s gone in, and to the reputation we’ve built over the years.

Why It’s Been So Special

For me, the best part has been seeing how people react when they come into the showroom. They’re not just looking at displays, they’re touching, testing, opening doors and drawers, and really getting a feel for the quality. And that’s when you see it click: they realise this isn’t about smoke and mirrors, it’s about real products, built properly, designed to last.

People are loving our approach, too. It’s about being honest, straightforward, and treating every project like it’s in our own home.

Why We Exist

At the end of the day, this is what we love: helping people create homes they’re proud of. Opening the showroom has only reinforced that. It’s given us a proper space to show who we are, what we stand for and how we work. And more than anything, it’s allowed us to help even more people than before.

That’s why we exist. Not just to fit kitchens and bathrooms, but to give homeowners an experience that feels positive from start to finish, with results they can enjoy for years to come.

I want to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us on opening day, and who has been in to see us since.

If you haven’t been in yet, I’d love for you to pop down, even if it’s just for a bit of inspiration. The kettle’s always on, and you might just find yourself surprised at what’s possible.
