Why I Opened the Pete Bird Kitchens & Bathrooms Showroom

When I set up Pete Bird Kitchens & Bathrooms back in 2018, it wasn’t just about fitting a few units or tiling walls. I’d been in the trade over 20 years by that point, and I’d seen too many people left disappointed. Whether it was cowboy builders bodging the job, poor communication, or cheap materials that have a very limited life, I knew it could be better than that.

I wanted to build something solid that offered honest advice, top notch craftsmanship, and quality materials that actually stand the test of time. Since then, me and my wife Ewelina have grown the business from the ground up. We’re still a family run team, and we’re proud to be known locally for doing things properly.

And now, opening our very first showroom in Peterborough feels like the next step. So here’s why we did it…

More Than a Display

This showroom isn’t just somewhere to wander round looking at posh taps (although, we’ve got a few of those too). It’s about giving people a proper space to get inspired and to see the quality of what we do. You can also have a cuppa and chat through ideas in person.

We’re big on personal service. Always have been. That means when you come to see us there is no pushy sales patter. We’re here only to offer honest, practical advice, and products we actually use on real jobs. These aren’t just showroom only ranges that look great under spotlights but fall apart after a year of use.

So whether it’s a sleek Italian kitchen or a smart German bathroom, everything in here is built to be lived in, not just looked at.

Making Big Decisions Feel Easy

Planning a new kitchen or bathroom is a big decision. And yet I still hear stories every week from people who were rushed, upsold, or confused into making choices they weren’t sure about.

That’s not how we do things.

We opened the showroom so you’ve got somewhere calm to take your time. Come in, touch the finishes, open drawers and ask questions. It’s a hands on place where you can get a feel for how it might all work in your home, without anyone breathing down your neck.

Built on Trust

Every fitter is part of our own team. They’re all DBS checked, fully trained, and proud of what they do. We’re members of the Federation of Master Builders, we’re Google Guaranteed, and we’ve even been named Most Trusted Kitchen & Bathroom Company, which I’m chuffed to bits about.

So, the showroom isn’t just a flashy space. It’s a place to come and see what that trust looks like in real life. You can meet me, chat with the team about your ideas, and get a proper sense of how we work.
